Visa Status: NO H1B & CPT Interview Mode: Virtual Required Education: Bachelors Degree Required Years of Experience: 10+ Years Job Overview: The Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Security Awareness Training - SME to manage and enhance their statewide cybersecurity training and awareness program for employees and contractors. This program is critical to ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as protecting the states information systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity awareness, policy development, and training program management. Responsibilities: Program Development & Oversight: Develop and review the statewide security awareness and training policy, ensuring alignment with state and federal laws, regulations, and standards. Training Material Coordination: Design, develop, and coordinate dissemination of security awareness materials, including: Initial training for new employees Monthly microlearning content based on current events and risks Quarterly briefings for stakeholders Annual privacy and role-based training Annual Summit: Plan and coordinate the curriculum and resources for the annual security awareness summit held every October. Program Metrics: Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Platform Administration: Oversee administrative duties within the security awareness training platform, including account management, report generation, campaign administration, and user issue resolution. Evaluation & Improvement: Evaluate new security awareness platforms and tools, and work to improve the security training process across the organization. Content Maintenance: Develop and maintain content for the Maryland.gov security awareness training webpage. Training Enrollment: Ensure all employees are enrolled in mandatory and discretionary training programs. Minimum Qualifications: Experience: 10+ years in the IT field, with a focus on security awareness, privacy, or cybersecurity. 5+ years designing and enhancing security awareness programs for medium to large organizations. 3+ years of experience with the Proofpoint Security Awareness Training platform. Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CDPSE, CRISC, or CIPM certification preferred. Skills: Expertise in policy, process, and procedure development. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear documentation. Strong advisory skills in cybersecurity education and awareness strategy. Experience in developing system-related requirements for solicitations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Capable of creating executive-level presentations and conducting virtual training sessions. Educational Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline from an accredited university.
