JOB ID: 332tdhca25001 Position: Java Developer Duration: 8+ Months (with the possibility of extension in FY) Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - On Site and Telework) Job Description The Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) requires the services of one Java Developer, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of ITSAC Category of Applications/Software Developer and Title of Developer/Programmer Analyst, Level 1, and the specifications outlined in this request for applications. All work products resulting from the project shall be considered works made for hire and are the property of the TDHCA. TDHCA may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by the Texas law. TDHCA will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker. TDHCA maintains custom applications written in Java with an Oracle database backend. The Worker will assist TDHCA by upgrading the existing Java infrastructure to a newer version Java and upgrading supporting tools and components. This position will primarily be a remote work position. However, the selected candidate may be required to come in the office occasionally. This position is open to be renewed for state fiscal years 2026 and 2027. II. CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity. Years Required/Preferred Experience 3 Required Experience with J2EE, Maverick, or other MVC framework (such as Struts). 3 Required Experience with Oracle relational databases, including creating and working with tables, views, reports, triggers, functions, and stored procedures.
