They serve the needs of various end users across different types of insurance, including: Commercial Lines System Auto, Home, ARS, HRIS, e-Home, Foremost Business Insurance (BI) is one of the programming solutions departments of the client. The application handles the policy processing cycle for the FIG commercial insurance business, including: ARS: A combined billing system designed to streamline the billing structure for different agent channels, minimizing cost and ensuring a seamless user experience. It uses a mainframe system with DB2 as the backend to store data. Commercial Lines of Business: Automobile Boiler and Machinery Commercial Property Crime General Liability Inland Marine Workers Compensation Other low-volume specialty lines Commercial Business Packages for Selected Industries: Artisan/Contractor Automobile Trades Habitational Restaurants Real Estate Retail and Services Wholesalers The project involves Base (Defect Removal) and ECP (Enhancement, Compliance, and Project). The work is done in two-month release cycles following an onsite-offshore model.Responsibilities Inventory Analysis: Review the mainframe hardware, operating systems, middleware, applications, and tools. Identify software licenses, versions, and usage metrics. Map dependencies between applications and systems. Performance Benchmarking: Analyze current mainframe performance, resource utilization (CPU, memory, I/O), and workload management. Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and high-cost processes. Cost Analysis: Assess licensing costs, maintenance fees, and operational expenses. Evaluate cost-effectiveness of existing software solutions. Risk Assessment: Review security, compliance, and disaster recovery measures. Identify risks associated with outdated software or unsupported technologies.Skills Must Have: 8+ years of experience in Mainframes (COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, JCL). Strong communication skills to run calls, coordinate with stakeholders, and resolve issues when required. Business Insurance Domain Knowledge. Nice to Have: Experience with mainframe performance optimization and tuning to improve system efficiency. Familiarity with cloud technologies and their integration with legacy systems. Knowledge of automation tools for mainframe management. Understanding of business rules and processes specific to commercial insurance. Experience with compliance standards in the insurance industry (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Familiarity with agile methodologies and two-month release cycles. Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning for mainframe environments.
