Position: Compliance and Security Engineer Location: Remote Duration: 12+ Months Contract Responsibilities: As a member of the Security Development team in a security role, you will have a substantial impact on the security of millions of Cisco Meraki users all around the world. We are looking for people who are passionate about building full stack security tools and have substantial experience developing in a containerized cloud/data center hybrid environment. Automation of Controls: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement automated controls for compliance and security requirements. Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and processes to monitor and enforce security controls across cloud environments. Work as part of a security development team to automate controls specifically for BSI C5 compliance, SOC2 Collaboration and Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including DevOps and software development, to embed compliance and security practices into workflows. Provide training and guidance to team members on compliance and security standards. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in compliance, security engineering, or related roles. Proven experience with BSI C5 certification processes and requirements. Experience working in a security development team automating controls for compliance. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of cloud computing environments and associated security challenges. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation purposes. Experience with security and compliance tools (e.g., SIEM, vulnerability scanners). Experience with containerized environments (Docker and/or Kubernetes) and cloud/data center hybrid setups. Knowledge and understanding of PKI, cryptographic concepts, and X.509 certificate management. Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in working within Agile development teams. Familiarity with additional compliance standards such as GDPR and HIPAA. Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security Specialty. Knowledge of AI/ML, microservices, and large-scale distributed systems.
