Desired Start Date : ASAP Position Summary We are seeking a highly experienced IT Project Manager to oversee and deliver critical IT projects for our client in the Property & Casualty insurance sector. This long-term, 100% remote opportunity will allow the successful candidate to lead IT projects from start to finish, managing complex initiatives that drive strategic business goals. The IT Project Manager will be part of the Portfolio and Project Management Group, responsible for executing projects that enable the realization of company objectives. These projects could involve implementing or customizing commercial insurance software, system integrations, mobile/web technologies, software upgrades, and infrastructure improvements, including Intelligent Automation (RPA). Key Responsibilities Lead IT projects from initiation to completion, managing multiple projects simultaneously (3+ projects depending on complexity). Manage projects of varying scope, with an average duration of 68 months. Create and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring accurate tracking and progress reporting. Monitor and reconcile project financials, investigating variances between forecasted and actual costs. Adjust project plans, schedules, and forecasts as necessary to ensure accurate reporting and the successful completion of each project. Develop and manage comprehensive project documentation, including charters, communication plans, risk management plans, and stakeholder matrices. Facilitate project meetings with team members, business sponsors, and other key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Prepare and deliver twice-monthly project status reports to all relevant stakeholders. Identify and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and decisions, escalating as necessary. Ensure compliance with project management governance standards and best practices. Develop and implement change management processes and tools throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to the maturity and improvement of the PMO (Project Management Office) practice. Oversee the completion, approval, and storage of project artifacts, ensuring proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Core Competencies & Requirements Experience : 57+ years of IT project management experience, specifically in delivering IT projects with a minimum budget of $150K. Proven track record in successfully delivering IT projects from start to finish, particularly in the insurance or financial services sectors (Property & Casualty experience is a plus). Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, managing vendor relationships, and executing Statements of Work (SOWs). Strong experience managing project financials, including timekeeping, reconciling invoices, and forecasting costs. Skills : Proficient in effort-driven project planning techniques using MS Project or similar project management tools. Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to guide teams through challenging project phases. Ability to create clear, concise messaging tailored to various organizational levels. Strong analytical skills to identify project risks, issues, and resolve complex problems. Excellent customer focus and ability to collaborate across teams to deliver high-impact results. Ability to understand the technical architecture and data flow of systems involved in the project. Certifications : PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred. Current PMP certification is strongly preferred, but not mandatory. Additional Qualifications : Strong understanding of insurance industry standards, specifically in Property & Casualty. Familiarity with Intelligent Automation (RPA) and system integrations is a plus. Strong communication skills and the ability to present effectively to executive leadership.
