Job Overview: Georgias State Accounting Office (SAO) is seeking an IT Communication Specialist, who under broad supervision, will support and execute SAOs comprehensive communications needs for its NextGen project. The project aims to replace the states current Enterprise Resource Planning system with a new, cloud-based solution that will serve the states full workforce by providing human capital, finance and procurement business support. Responsibilities include supporting and executing the projects communications and change management plans. Develops communication materials, information publications and presentations. May assist in managing projects/campaigns and program plans for social or community outreach. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: As a team member or individually, participates in the development of conferences, instructive seminars, presentations and speeches for community and civic organizations and the general public Identifies main client groups and audiences and determines the best way to communicate Assists with identifying, developing and evaluating communication strategy based on characteristics, costs and markup factors Serves as a resource in the development and implementation of IT communications Designs, sharpens and focuses the message pertaining to the agency, unit and department and uses print or other media to communicate the message Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with area business community, internal and external agency customers and other related contacts May produce and distribute informational material in a variety of media Plans and coordinates meetings and special events Responds to routine inquiries about the organization by answering questions or directing them to the appropriate party; researches answers to questions In partnership with NextGen Change Management Lead and Communications Lead, develop communication plans for project workstream- specific efforts for internal and external project stakeholders Write communication drafts and vet through approval process Develop presentations and supporting imagery Track plan activity detail and progress to evaluate effectiveness and plan forward Experience drafting communications for technology projects. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field from an accredited college or university AND two years of communications or related experience OR five years of communications or related experience OR one year of experience required at the lower level Communications Spec 2 or position equivalent.
