Position: Project Manager III (Overnight Shift) Location: Need to be located in the Chicagoland area. This person can be mostly remote, but needs to be available if they need them to come onsite for meetings or to go to their data centre etc. Duration: 1 Year (potential to extend) Skype a. Must be local to Chicago and willing to come on-site for meetings or to visit data centers up to 3x per month. Must be able to work overnight shift (10 pm-4 am) 2-3x per week (usually Tuesday-Thursday). Schedule capped at 40 hours per week. Manager prioritizes work-life balance for the team (ex. If working overnight Tu-Th, will have lighter days Monday & Friday) b. Targeting senior Project Managers with 8+ years of experience MUST have LAN/WAN/SD-WAN (manager will NOT consider if they dont have this experience), network refresh, routers/switches, etc.) Schedule: Must be able to work overnight shifts (10PM 4AM) 2-3 times a week. They do only work 40 hours. Manager is great about making sure his team has sleep and a good work life balance, even while working overnight. He told me this over and over again that he wants his team to be happy and health, especially working the overnight Manager Notes: Project: They are doing a big project that is 3 years long replacing the switches and routers in the airports. This person does not need to be super technical, but they need to have a technical enough background to understand the lingo that the engineers use. They are splitting up the US into different regions, and there will be a different PM assigned to each region. They get to own that project with the engineers. What will this person be doing They will be utilizing the process that is in place to help configure, engineer, identify the needs (whether that be needing additional headcount or supplies etc.), and then making sure all of the equipment is shipped to their locations. After a month of training and being on the job, they are expected to be experienced enough to work on their own. They will not be doing the finance side of things, their manager, does all the finance. However, they will need to help with utilizing that information to communicate what is needed and making sure to bill against the right budgets. They use PMLC and arent strict scrum or waterfall. Required: Minimum 8 years of infrastructure experience is required. Must have enterprise level experience. Looking for someone that comes from a company that has a centralized data center with a lot of locations. Big deployment experience Must have experience with LAN/WAN/SDWAN projects. Preferred: PMP is highly preferred. He told me this again in our meeting. HIGHLY preferred is a PMP Job Summary: Senior Project Manager for Information Technology Infrastructure projects. Candidate must be able to create project plan; coordinate work streams and activities of various IT engineering and remote field service groups. Candidate to manage project Product Management Lifecycle process including requirements gathering, planning, budgeting, resourcing, managing project builds and cutover. Candidate must be able to develop realistic project plans; work with cross functional team of engineering disciplines, document and track requirements, issues, risks, project budget, etc. and maintain project archives such as budget, meeting minutes etc. Candidates needs to be able to communicate effectively to various management levels and handle multiple concurrent technology projects. Skillset Details Ideal candidate is a quick learner, self-starter and creative problem solver with ability to work independently as well as be part of a team with experience managing infrastructure projects covering the following areas: Candidate must have experience with network implementations involving many remote locations connecting to central data centers. Experience in working with and scheduling remote resources an absolute requirement Network refresh projects involving WAN, LAN, WiFi, Firewalls, load balancers Data Center builds, upgrades, moves and decommissioning Telecom experience familiar with routed WAN technologies (MPLS, TDM, broadband, 4/5G LTE, SD-WAN). SD-WAN implementation experience will be highly regarded WAN backbone implementations Security projects involving CCTV cameras, Video analytics, Access control/badging Network foundational services, such as Global Directory, DNS/DHCP, IPAM, remote access Position will be based out of Willis Tower offices but will be classified as a United hybrid worker (mostly work from home, work from office as needed). May need to report to office upon request or as project communications require, subject to current health safety rules. Managing late night change implementations will be required (work from home during this time). Compensatory time off will be provided to keep 40 hrs/week balance. Will need reliable transportation.
