Location: 100% Remote Job Type: C2C Visa not Required: CPT/OPT Job Description: We are seeking a Mid-Level Project Manager to lead and oversee the migration of on-premises virtual machines (VMs) to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have experience in managing VM migration projects, ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption, and collaborating closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors. This role demands a good understanding of cloud technologies, preferably GCP, VM management, and best practices in cloud migration. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning and Management Develop, manage, and execute detailed project plans for the migration of VMs from on-premises to GCP. Define project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful and timely completion. Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring that mitigation strategies are in place. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including business units, IT teams, and third-party vendors. Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Facilitate meetings and discussions to gather requirements, provide updates, and resolve issues promptly. Manage thorough documentation, build MOPs, RASCI, Gantt, build and retain wiki. Team Collaboration Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including VM administrators, cloud engineers, network/security specialists, and business analysts. Foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring that team members are aligned and working towards common goals. Coordinate with external vendors and consultants to ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables. Documentation and Compliance Maintain comprehensive project documentation , including project plans, risk logs, and change requests. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements during and after the migration process. Prepare and present post-migration reports and analysis, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A PMP or similar project management certification is a mandate. 3+ years of experience in IT Project Management, with at least 1 year of experience managing VM migrations, preferably from on-premises to cloud environments like GCP. Proven experience with cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like Compute Engine. Fair understanding of VM management systems and migration tools such as Google Migrate for Compute Engine or other third-party solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, align business and technical requirements, and drive teams to deliver on time. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills , with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in risk management and change management. Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is preferred. Knowledge of IT compliance and security best practices related to VM management and cloud solutions.
