Role: EMC Technician Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite) Job type: Contract Role Description The EMC Technician will collaborate closely with the EMC Design Engineering team to support product testing, debugging, lab setup and maintenance, and equipment verification. This role is critical for ensuring high-quality EMC testing and lab operations for consumer electronics projects. Key Competencies EMC Testing and Debugging EMC Design Engineering EMC Lab Maintenance and Equipment Calibration Key Responsibilities Assist in EMC product testing, debug, and analysis according to EMC standards. Prepare detailed test reports and communicate results effectively to engineering teams. Collaborate with engineers to debug anomalous test results and refine testing protocols. Support the deployment and installation of new EMC test equipment and chambers. Perform routine maintenance, verification, and calibration of EMC lab equipment. Execute rework and soldering tasks, including teardown and reassembly of consumer electronics. Track and manage equipment calibration schedules, coordinating with third-party vendors as needed. Ensure EMC validation for development builds and establish consistent lab processes. Preferred Qualifications Strong experience in testing and debugging consumer electronics, including software/firmware and EMC issues. Familiarity with EMC standards such as EN55022, EN55032, IEC61000 series, and ETSI 301 489-7. Hands-on experience with lab equipment like ESD guns, surge testers, oscilloscopes, SAs, VNAs, amplifiers, and LISNs. Knowledge of lab maintenance procedures, calibration, and ISO 17025 standards. Experience generating technical reports with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in reworking electrical components, including those as small as 01005. Expectations Successful execution of EMC validation for all supported projects. Effective implementation of lab bring-up and maintenance processes. Completion of calibration, verification processes, and data analysis for EMC equipment. Experience Requirements 8-10 years of relevant experience in EMC design engineering or testing.
