From: Ritika Arora, GVR Infotek [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Job Description - Job Title: Programmer Analyst Location: Onsite St. Louis, MO Industry: Government-Related Agency Visa : USC Job Overview: The Programmer Analyst will analyze, support, and recommend improvements to primary business processes to enhance functional efficiency and effectiveness through technological systems. This role involves working closely with IT Operations Systems staff, Transit Operations personnel, and other corporate staff to provide enhancement and support for operational systems and applications. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with decision-makers, system owners, and end-users to define technical requirements, system goals, and resolve system issues. Analyze and document system scope and objectives, devising or modifying procedures to solve complex business problems. Implement, verify, and maintain new applications or enhancements to existing applications. Recommend application and process changes to enhance business operations and information flows. Prepare detailed reports, recommendations, and alternatives to address existing and potential application issues. Assist in developing strategies to optimize or leverage existing systems. Plan, design, develop, and deploy new applications and enhancements. Conduct cost/benefit analyses for proposed systems to support management decision-making. Ensure compatibility and interoperability of computer systems. Create system models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to facilitate communication. Adhere to standard application implementation methodologies as defined by the organizations IT department. Train and orient end-users on modified and new systems. Research and recommend software and hardware solutions to support purchasing efforts. Provide guidance to other IT staff members to enhance overall departmental capabilities. Required Skills and Qualifications: Education: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience required). Masters Degree (M.S./MBA) is desirable. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in implementing and maintaining third-party information technology systems (on-premise and SaaS). Experience with Oracle relational databases, SQL, and SQL Server. Familiarity with administrative and operational business systems. Proven ability to write and debug SQL queries and evaluate data quality in large databases. Experience in designing and developing business reports (Tableau experience is a plus). Experience in problem identification and resolution in complex application environments. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, and SQL. Familiarity with Client/Server applications, Trapeze Software modules (e.g., PASS, FX, INFO-Web), and revenue-related applications. Knowledge of transit information systems is a plus. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences. Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure. Strong troubleshooting skills, including configuring firmware and managing application hardware. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of transit industry operations. Understanding of IT standards, procedures, and best practices. Experience conducting research and justifying recommendations for software and hardware solutions.
