Job Description: Technical Project Manager We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead and manage medium to large cross-team, multi-year technical programs and projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing project goals, scope, budgets, timelines, risks, resources, and overall delivery while maintaining strong communication and governance practices. The successful candidate will also work closely with development leaders, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and continuous improvement. Ideally candidates local to Austin, TX for hybrid work model. Technical Project Manager Responsibilities Define and identify project goals, scope, resource allocation, budget, execution workflows, dependencies, DRIVE matrix, tracking/measurement models, communication plans, change management strategies, risk mitigation, and governance. Execute and track projects against established goals, timelines, quality gates, KPIs, and committed results. Follow and optimize delivery processes within an agile environment to ensure effective and timely project completion. Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve conflicts or issues within the project lifecycle. Provide regular status updates to project teams in alignment with the governance model, including cross-organizational updates. Mitigate project constraints to optimize delivery and meet project goals. Lead the implementation of medium to large, cross-team, and multi-year programs and projects. Align project plans with the broader roadmap, including managing budgets, resources, and dependencies. Define project metrics and effectively communicate progress, exceptions, and trends to executives. Collaborate with development leaders to collect, analyze, and report development team project metrics with a focus on continuous improvement. Communicate scope, project roadmap, priorities, and key delivery status to stakeholders and business teams. Identify and manage project risks and exceptions, proposing mitigation strategies and resolutions. Stay updated on industry trends, business conditions, and internal processes to influence the success of project initiatives. Technical Project Manager Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 6-10 years of experience in managing technical projects and priorities. Proficiency with project management tools like JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office, Visio, etc. Strong problem-solving skills and technical aptitude, with the ability to understand product features and functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative focus. Expertise in estimation, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation across business lines. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and persuade key decision-makers. Proven ability to set clear expectations, manage team performance, and foster high morale. Willingness to travel as needed to meet with project participants. Preferred PMP Certification or equivalent project management certification. Experience working in an agile software development environment, including familiarity with agile tools like Jira and TFS. Solid understanding of technology stacks, product life cycles, and the automotive industry. Experience collaborating with offshore agile teams. Ability to work across business and product lines. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on process, action, and delivering projects in an iterative manner. Experience with Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) environments and solutions.
