The successful candidate will have a strong background in IT project management, with a focus on experience in government, preferably in NYC Government agencies. Mandatory Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Education Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. Project Management certification is a plus such as PMP. Proven experience in IT Project Manager work in NY Government agencies (For an example Dept of Education or Human Resource or Dept of transit ) Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management. Proficiency in software tools including SmartSheet and Confluence and Jira. Knowledge of special education is a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills Responsibilities: Lead the planning and implementation of the special education data management system project using a waterfall SDLC. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables. Define project tasks and resource requirements. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents. Manage project resource allocation. Plan and schedule project timelines, track project deliverables using appropriate tools. Effectively manage issues and risks and mitigation amongst project team members and executive stakeholders. Provide direction and support to the project team. Constantly monitor and report on the progress of the project to all stakeholders. Early identification of risks and mitigation plans. Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs. Plan and manage software releases in coordination with the technical team. Support user acceptance testing and training and coordinate with the team to address any issues. Manage executive-level communication for both IT and business leaders, ensuring transparency and timely updates on project progress. Ensures that the project has an effective cadence of project meetings to ensure effective communication, decision-making, and accountability for agreed-upon deliverables. Owns content creation for key leadership meetings, Steering Committee, IT leadership, City Council, etc. Presents at key meetings and ensure meeting minutes are detailed, contain action items, and are distributed to stakeholders. Ensures effective change management. Ensures deliverables align with the contract.
