Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer Location: Remote Primary skills Test Data Management, Postman, BDD - Behavior Driven Development, Zephyr, TDD - Test Driven Development, Rest-Assured Role Overview: The QA Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products by developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. Key Responsibilities: Testing and Quality Assurance: Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and system testing. Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure software meets requirements and is free of defects. Identify, document, and track defects in defect tracking systems, working closely with development teams to resolve issues. Validate fixes and perform regression testing for resolved defects. Automation Testing: Design and implement test automation frameworks and scripts using tools like Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar. Automate repetitive test cases to improve testing efficiency and coverage. Maintain and enhance automation scripts as application features evolve. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage. Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to represent QA perspectives. Provide clear and concise testing status reports and quality metrics to stakeholders. Performance and Security Testing: Conduct performance testing to evaluate system behavior under load and stress conditions. Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving QA processes and implement best practices. Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and industry trends. Required Skills and Expertise: Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes. Experience with manual testing, including black-box, white-box, and exploratory testing. Proficiency in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG). Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured. Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus. Familiarity with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail). Basic understanding of databases and ability to write SQL queries for data validation. Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git). Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in Agile/Scrum environments. Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript). Certifications such as ISTQB, CSTE, or equivalent.
