Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, or Scala. Experience with data formats such as JSON and XML, and proficiency in using REST APIs for data exchange. Familiarity with distributed systems and databases. Expertise in search algorithms, text analysis, and relevance tuning to enhance search functionality. Preferred Skills: Experience with machine learning techniques for improving search ranking and developing recommendation systems. Knowledge of big data tools like Apache Spark or Hadoop. Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization tools such as Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes. Key Responsibilities: Solr Configuration and Optimization: Configure and fine-tune Solr instances for peak performance, scalability, and search accuracy. Indexing and Data Ingestion: Design and implement robust data ingestion pipelines to support real-time and batch updates to Solr indexes from diverse data sources. Relevance Tuning: Develop strategies to improve search relevance using boosting techniques, custom ranking algorithms, and query refinement. Query Analysis and Enhancement: Analyze and optimize search queries, design effective search filters and facets, and improve query parsing for better user outcomes. Monitoring and Performance Management: Monitor the health, performance, and logs of Solr systems, implementing load balancing, replication, and backup strategies. Team Collaboration: Partner with data engineers, backend developers, and product teams to understand requirements and ensure search systems align with business goals. System Maintenance and Upgrades: Manage Solr version upgrades, patches, and compatibility with other software components.
