Database Operations Manager Location: Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Onsite 2x a week in Plano, TX (some flexibility) Visa: USC,GC & GCEAD MOI Webcam Long term project Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Database Operations Manager with a minimum of 5-6 years of hands-on experience in monitoring, triaging, and resolving mission critical production database issues, and experience managing an operations team. You will manage a team of onshore and offshore team members responsible for L1/L2 database support. You will drive operational maturity, coordinate on call rotations, ensure availability of resources during outages and major issues, and drive resolution of issues or escalate when required. Responsibilities: Ensure team availability for L1 and L2 support for SQL, Sybase, and Oracle databases Coordinate support during high severity incidents to restore service in a timely manner Monitor, prioritize, and track issues until resolved. Coordinate hand-offs between onshore and offshore teams Flexibility with working hours to support customer needs Compile and provide updates to stakeholders on outages and availability, including metrics, performance against defined service level objectives, and overall operational health Coordinate with L3 and L4 resources when escalation is required Lead incident reporting and facilitate participation in postmortems involving prioritizing enhancements to reduce ongoing support Resolve issues with schedule database maintenance Execute planned database code releases from application teams Schedule, coordinate, and install required database patches and updates Participate in and support new store grand openings Identify automation opportunities and partner with engineering teams to implement Required to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously Accountable for teams use and adherence to the processes Must continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction Manage crisis situations using analytical and organizational skills Must be a team player and coordinate knowledge sharing, eliminating siloed areas of expertise in the team Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency Experience Required: Minimum 6-8 years of experience supporting Database operations in an enterprise production environment for SQL Server, Sybase, and Oracle (must have at least two of the three) 3-5 years of leadership experience managing a database operations team preferred Experience working in an Agile/Scrum setting Azure Cloud, DevOps experience are preferred Skill/Experience/Education Mandatory Skills Minimum 6 years of experience supporting Database operations in an enterprise production environment for SQL Server, Sybase, and Oracle (must have at least two of the three) 1-3 years of leadership experience managing a database operations team preferred Experience working in an Agile/Scrum setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desired Skills: Azure Cloud, DevOps experience Regards, Steve Williams | Technical Recruiter | -- Keywords: information technology green card Texas Database Operations Manager || Hybrid in TX || USC,GC & GCEAD [email protected] |
