Experience and understanding of Agile and DevOps methods and mindset. Knowledge of application development lifecycles, & continuous integration/deployment practices Working knowledge and experience of common network and application protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, IPSEC, SMTP, IMAP, HTTP) Experience with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence Knowledge of networking concepts such as Ports/Protocols/IP Ability to troubleshoot common VPC infrastructure issues regarding Network ACLs, Security Groups, Direct Connect, VPC Peering, and Transit Gateway Experience deploying and maintaining solutions built on AWS IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service) offerings. Knowledge of AWS Security and Management Services (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS,IAM). Understand AWS storage concepts related to EBS and S3 Understand serverless compute solutions using Lambda. Knowledge of using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible) to design and deploy resources. Our client who supports the Center for Medicare Medicaid Services is seeking a strong AWS Linux Systems Engineer, youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline cloud workflows, maintain infrastructure, and execute projects aligned with customer initiatives. Responsibilities include configuration, operations, security, network management, and implementing cloud tools for automation. Duties: Design, configure, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud-based infrastructure. Manage all infrastructure components of a Federal LAMP based system hosted in a Federal Amazon Cloud Services (AWS) environment and in alignment with the NIST. Work within and across Agile teams to support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies and to continuously improve software engineering practices, enhance the delivery of cloud deployments, support automation, and collaborate with cross-functional team to streamline application services. Implement and manage AWS services, tools and technologies including but not limited to CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Trufflehog, SPLUNK, SES, Ansible, IAC/Terraform, Synk/Sonar Cube, New Relic, Nginx, Apache, and GitHub. Manage overall site availability, latency, security, and system health. Monitor and troubleshoot site performance and security issues and manage alert strategies and notification processes. Manage and perform infrastructure upgrades and updates to maximize system efficiency while minimizing downtime. Manage deployment, upgrade, and patching efforts. Maintain, test and implement disaster recovery procedures to include backup and recovery support. Apply problem solving skills to modernize overall technology solutions that will directly impact client missions. Participate in technical architecture solution efforts by interfacing with customer and product teams to understand business needs and requirements. Ensure the quality of architecture and design of system(s). Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities with the ability to support multiple work streams and drive assimilation of new techniques and solutions. Support preparation for annual security assessments, documentation updates, development, and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical diagrams.
