The InnovateOhio Platform (IOP) team is dedicated to developing innovative
solutions that deliver high-quality services to the public, improving the
quality of life for Ohioans and enhancing the state's business environment.

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented designer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of
user-centered design principles, a passion for creating intuitive and
accessible user experiences, and the ability to collaborate effectively with
cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality digital products.

As a Design System Lead at IOP, you will play a
pivotal role in shaping the visual standards for the state. You will lead the
evolution and management of our design system and work closely with internal
and external teams to ensure that design principles, UI components, and
guidelines are scalable and aligned across the enterprise.

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of user-centered design
principles and a proven ability to create intuitive, accessible user
experiences.

Experience in leading design systems, including
defining, documenting, and evolving UI components and design patterns.

Proficiency in design tools such as Figma,
Sketch, or Adobe XD.

Familiarity with front-end development and the
ability to collaborate effectively with developers.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills,
with a passion for mentoring and sharing design best practices.

Commitment to creating inclusive, accessible
designs for a diverse user base.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and Evolve the Design
System

Organize and lead weekly Design Operations
meetings to oversee the expansion and refinement of the design system.

Manage the product roadmap for the design system,
ensuring its continuous evolution and alignment with organizational goals.

2. Design Projects

Create interactive prototypes for websites,
products, components, and patterns, refining designs based on user
testing, feedback, and usability data.

Continuously iterate on design components and
patterns to ensure optimal user experience and consistency.

3. Design Leadership

Provide guidance to external designers, promoting
a user-centered design philosophy and best practices for system
components.

Champion the adoption of design standards and
principles across teams and projects.

4. Establish, Document, and
Communicate

Define design guidelines, patterns, and
standards, ensuring they are clearly documented and accessible.

Maintain up-to-date, comprehensive documentation
for the design system, ensuring alignment and consistency.

5. Foster a Culture of
Collaboration and Feedback

Lead design discussions and reviews, facilitating
feedback loops with both internal and external stakeholders.

Encourage a collaborative environment where
diverse perspectives are valued and contribute to design improvements.

6. Ensure Accessibility and
Inclusivity

Advocate for inclusive design practices that
prioritize accessibility.

Ensure the design system adheres to accessibility
standards and meets the diverse needs of all users.
