Job title: Lead Software Developer Interview: Video Location: Remote This is a remote position. Overview: A public sector client of ours in Austin, Texas is looking for a Lead Software Developer for a 6-month remote contract opportunity that is expected to extend. Due to the nature of the role, they are only considering remote candidates who are currently residing in Texas. Key Responsibilities: Design and Development Design and develop a new reporting framework using .NET 8, Blazor, and other modern Microsoft technologies. Lead the migration of legacy applications and reports to the new framework, ensuring scalability and performance. SDLC Participation Actively participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within a SCRUM/Agile environment. Legacy System Modernization Analyze and enhance existing complex reports built with Crystal Reports integrated with Oracle databases. Modernize and streamline legacy projects, aligning them with current business goals. Database Integration and Optimization Develop scalable, high-performance financial system solutions with seamless integration to Oracle databases. Write and optimize PL/SQL and stored procedures, ensuring efficient database performance. Collaboration and Automation Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the DevOps team, to enhance CI/CD pipelines and automation processes. Problem-Solving and Innovation Provide innovative solutions to modernize legacy projects and resolve technical and architectural challenges. Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues in financial systems. Skills and Qualifications: Minimum Required Skills: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (8+ years) Strong experience in the SDLC, particularly with migrating legacy applications and designing modern solutions. Oracle Database Expertise (8+ years) Advanced knowledge of Oracle database management, including: Writing and optimizing PL/SQL and stored procedures. Performance tuning for complex queries and systems. Design Principles (8+ years) Expertise in modern design principles and applying them to software development. Technical Documentation (8+ years) Proven ability to create detailed and effective technical documentation. .NET Framework (6+ years) Proficiency in .NET 5/6/7/8.0 framework, C#, and Visual Studio for developing robust software solutions. Entity Framework (6+ years) Hands-on experience with Entity Framework for database interaction and ORM. Blazor Development (5+ years) Experience with Blazor Server and Blazor WebAssembly (WSM) for modern web application development. Version Control (5+ years) Proficiency in using Bitbucket for version control in collaborative environments. SCRUM/Agile Methodologies (5+ years) Experience working within SCRUM/Agile frameworks for iterative project delivery. Project-Specific Tools (5+ years) Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, TEMPO, Bitbucket, Confluence, and other project management tools. NOTE: Candidates who do not meet the minimum requirements above will not be considered for the role at this time. Preferred Skills: CI/CD Pipeline Maintenance (Preferred) Experience working with DevOps practices, especially in maintaining and enhancing CI/CD pipelines and automation processes. Modern Reporting Frameworks (Preferred) Experience in modernizing reporting frameworks and financial systems for better performance and usability. Collaboration and Communication Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Problem-Solving in Legacy-to-Modern Transformations Proven ability to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve technical and architectural challenges during legacy-to-modern transformations. Additional Requirements: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues within financial systems. A track record of successfully migrating legacy applications and developing scalable, high-performance solutions. Strong ability to work within a collaborative team environment while maintaining individual accountability for tasks.
