Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior UX Designer to join a dynamic team. This role plays a key role in driving the discovery, design, workflows, and usability testing for both our surgical navigation and data products. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in user research , UX design , and an understanding of the software development lifecycle. Experience in the medical product industry and familiarity with hardware/software integration is a strong advantage. Responsibilities: Conduct user research through customer interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights on user needs, pain points, and behaviors. Create and maintain user journey maps, personas, and scenarios to guide design decisions. Translate research findings into presentations, design concepts, wireframes, prototypes, and actionable requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product managers, product owners, UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders) to ensure that user-centered design principles are integrated throughout the development process. Develop and refine workflow and interaction designs to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience. Utilize the existing Design System and UI styles to maintain design consistency across products. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, best practices, and emerging UX design technologies. Focus on streamlining workflows and improving the efficiency of user interactions to enhance overall user satisfaction and productivity. Identify opportunities to optimize and simplify complex processes, reducing cognitive load and minimizing user errors. Measure the impact of design changes to ensure UX improvements contribute to better user outcomes. Skills and Qualifications: Must-Have: Bachelors degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in UX design and user research. Experience conducting user research, including customer interviews, usability testing, and creating user journey maps. Familiarity with hardware/software integration and the challenges of designing for both. Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Miro). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex research into actionable design solutions. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of presenting ideas and influencing stakeholders effectively. Knowledge of software development processes and the ability to work closely with development teams for design implementation. 5+ years of experience in UX design, with proven success in delivering productsfrom design and testing to implementation and release. Experience in the medical product industry, with familiarity with IEC 62366-1 (usability engineering for medical devices), FDA Human Factors Guidance, and IEC 62304 (software lifecycle for medical devices). Must be local to the Seattle area. Nice to Have: Experience working in a regulated industry (medical devices, government, aviation, automotive, aerospace, etc.). Familiarity with UI kits and/or maintaining design consistency across products. Knowledge of accessibility standards in medical device design. Experience with Jira and Agile methodologies. Experience designing for 3D applications or in 3D modeling.
