Job Title: Azure Cloud Database Administrator Job Location: Hybrid in Chicago, IL (Need Local with DL) Duration: 6+ month contract Visa Type: USC/GC/GC-EAD/H4-EAD/Only Responsibilities: Script database creation, configuration, and integrations with other Azure services. Administer, tune, and optimize SQL and NoSQL databases on Azure to ensure high performance and availability. Set up backups, restore procedures, and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss. Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution. Implement automated failover mechanisms to ensure continuous availability of our database services. Implement cost-saving strategies and optimizations to minimize expenses associated with database infrastructure. Manage all aspects of database security and adhere to NTs data protection and data privacy guidelines. Demonstrate proficiency in defining and automating database administration functions. Work closely with developers to optimize database schemas, queries, and indexes for improved performance. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience. 10+ years of experience as a database administrator with at least 5 years experience administering databases on Azure. Preferred Skills: Extensive experience with data services on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform including databases, Data bricks, and Synapse. Expertise in setting up Data Replication, Sharding, Database Security, Encryption, Compression, and Data Masking/Redaction for SQL and NoSQL databases. Proficient in database sizing and migration. Experience architecting highly available solutions and disaster recovery. Ability to evaluate, prototype, and recommend emerging cloud data technologies and services. Understanding of the SCRUM agile process. Financial Services domain knowledge. Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate Trust is Contagious!!
