Must be able to work 4 days on site either in New York City or Newport Beach, CA Must have real, heavy experience with REAL-TIME MESSAGING SYSTEMS: Think of real-time streaming trading data with the New York Stock Exchange through the international trading day. Or the USA National Weather System that collects data from tens of millions of sites all over USA that tracks exact temperature, humidity, wind speed, etc. every second. Or like credit card companies like VISA, MasterCard or American Express that have hundreds of millions of international customers making Credit card transactions throughout the day. Or any payment systems like crypto currency. This is for a fixed income asset manager with over $2 trillion AUM (assets under management) and has international offices. This job requires a senior Java backend developer with minimum of 15 years experience as they want more experience if possible Candidate must work 4 days a week in the office and Friday work from home. Location is Newport Beach, CA. Candidate can be out of state and can relocate, but they must work onsite in Newport Beach, CA at agreed upon time. Must have truly deep understanding and architecture Kafka streams, publishing and subscribing, and Kafka clusters. 95% of candidates who put Kafka on resume only know a small part of it and superficial knowledge, but they will lie to you as they know you wont understand. Apache Flink (is a huge plus, but not 100% requirement) is so new and complex that this require is just a plus. Senior Software Java Backend Developer (expert with Kafka and Flink is a huge plus) We are looking for a Java Developer to join the positions team and join a team developing software on-prem and in the cloud to capture trading transactions and calculate positions for the firm. You will work closely with the business and other team members as a senior player to develop efficient solutions and support others in understanding and solving complex. Position Requirements: 15+ years of programming, with at least 5+ years of Java required. 5+ years of experience building cloud native applications with AWS. Used Spring and Apache libraries and other large open source libraries. Experience with complex technology stacks. Experience with Kafka and real-time messaging systems. Minimum of 2 years experience with Apache Flink. Expert SQL/Database Query experience required. Financial Services experience is desired. Strong analytical ability to learn independently from the code / reverse engineer Ability to work well independently and in cross-functional teams Excellent written and oral communication skills Deep understanding is desired. 15 Years programming skills in Java at least 5 - Java is 1.8 *they do plan on upgrading, to Java 17, the cloud Java is 12 TITLE --- Senior Java Developer 15 years programming This role has a mixture of legacy / server side / ON PREMand then some AWS cloud services also <-- MUST HAVE AWS experience GOLD star is someone who knows Apache FLINK (this is a hard to learn skills) The work is in 4 different systems right now, REVERSE ENGINEER THE CODE -- read code, work independently, be a self starter with code you havent seen before Financial services experience is good but not required. However -- having Worked with an IBOR before would be good -- Investment Book of Records. Mostly financial uses Flink Financial <-- Probably you will find someone in financial with these skills Ibor or Abor (accounting Book of records) Kafka is required, real time messaging They use oracle and Arora for the data bases, Any SQL RDBMS query <---MUST BE VERY STRONG IN THIS They have a team of 7 people, integrated with the rest of the team,. Newport Beach, some off shore and some REVERSE ENGINEER SHOULD BE on the project. Not waterfall, they are objective focused. Newport Beach is required.
