Job Title: Product Engineer Type of Engagement: 12-month contract Candidates must reside in the Greater Salem, VA area. Required Skills & Experience: 8+ years of related experience Job Overview: Product Engineer focuses on designing and developing new or existing products, components, or assemblies including: Supporting the local production site and be the connection between production site and product development and vice versa in product/design related questions/issues. Establishing mock-up/pilots/test assemblies and coordinate the product change implementation on site. Coordinating process and product changes between mother plant and receiving plant. Applying engineering principles to develop products that meet customer technical/functional specifications as well as manufacturing cost/efficiency requirements. Conducting mathematical modelling to determine if proposed designs are technically feasible. Supporting and participating in the design, test, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototypes. May also be involved with designing product specific manufacturing production processes and equipment. Lead level is a specialist in Product Engineering typically obtained through education and work experience Essential Job Responsibilities: Managing large projects or (end to end) processes with limited oversight from manager. Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
