Role: Senior Network Engineer Location: Oakland, CA Note: Only USC/GC/H4 EAD/TN Interview will be onsite Must Have: must be a Sr Engineer (8+ years) Strong Palo Alto both an Operational Mindset AND project Delivery needs to be close to Oakland, Livermore and Sacramento (Hybrid to all locations) Responsibilities: Required Qualifications Advanced knowledge of professional communications and network systems in the completion of diverse assignments. Understand the implications of work in other areas. Has highly developed problem-solving skills to independently resolve issues using defined parameters and technical expertise. Clearly understands the communications and network needs of the organization and has skills needed to address those needs. In-depth, advanced understanding of various network hardware platforms, network-related protocols, and software, including an understanding of OSI layers IP/TCP protocols at a complex level and related technical standards critical to the operation of interconnected networks. Demonstrated ability to analyze highly complex communication hardware and software systems for maintaining a real-time resource that impacts OP-wide network users. Demonstrated ability to gather, organize and analyze data in the completion of a variety of functional assignments. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Ability to interpret cabling plans and oversee installers to ensure standards are meet. Familiar with cabling and termination specification, maintenance, and problem determination. In-depth knowledge of Cisco VSS, routers, switches, Cisco wireless, Palo Alto Network FW, Global Protect VPN. Ability to deploy and maintain Infoblox DDI Ability to design and deploy network-related configurations in AWS. At least 8 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN networks. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with Infoblox NIOS-based DNS/DHCP/IPAM implementations. In-depth knowledge of Cisco VSS, routers, switches, Cisco wireless. In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF) Familiarity with access control models and network security Ability to plan, configure, and install Citrix NetScaler/ADC load balancing, redirect, and content switching configurations. Education Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
