Job Description -

Job Title: IBM Sterling Support Specialist - Backfill Position 

Location: Greater Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg, PA Area (Need Local to PA.)

Schedule/Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Residency Requirements: Candidates must reside within a commutable distance from Harrisburg, PA, and hold a valid U.S. Green Card or U.S. citizenship.

Screening Requirements: All candidates must provide official identification displaying their current home address and photograph as part of the application process. Identity verification will be conducted through a video call prior to consideration for the position.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in a multi-system support environment.

Strong understanding of SFTP protocols.

Hands-on experience with file transmission software such as IBM Sterling Connect: Enterprise and/or Connect: Direct.

Familiarity with IBM Sterling File Gateway and Sterling B2B Integrator is preferred.

Knowledge of transaction transmission via TCP/IP wire protocols.

Advanced experience with TSO/ISPF on IBM Mainframes.

Proficient in the MS Office Suite.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Excellent communication skills for conveying complex technical concepts.

Flexible to participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotation, including responding to calls within company standards.

Home internet connectivity is required for on-call duties.

Ability to accommodate occasional off-site travel as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the planning, development, customization, and maintenance of the transmission system.

Perform complex maintenance tasks, including updating existing workflows and creating new workflows based on Data Transmission Request (DTR) system requirements.

Interface with IT groups to facilitate setup and maintenance of complex transmission workflows using the Change Management System (CMS), including firewall changes and network setups.

Collaborate in design sessions with IT and business staff to assist with workflow design and DTR creation.

Enforce transmission data security policies and standards.

Conduct daily verification tasks to ensure the successful transmission of files and document findings as needed.

Address Tier 3 support requests and troubleshoot complex problems related to data transmission workflows, ensuring timely resolution.

Assign project tasks and monitor the quality and progress of technical work performed by team members.

Manage highly complex projects and upgrades, providing detailed status updates.

Partner with IT personnel, functional users, and vendors to provide guidance and support for project implementation.

Mentor less experienced team members by assigning and reviewing work, providing coaching and guidance.

Scope, plan, and prioritize multiple projects effectively.

Participate in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning and testing.

Represent the organization in industry-specific user groups or committees, as needed.

Ensure compliance with enterprise security and privacy policies and departmental procedures.
