Position: Technical Writer Duration: Contract Visa: Only USC, GC applicable Location: Remote (CA) Experience: 13+ above Mandatory Skills: Madcap Flare Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with expertise in creating comprehensive documentation for technical audiences, particularly developers and DevOps professionals. The ideal candidate will have experience with API documentation, DevOps environments, and online help systems, and will be adept in various tools and platforms. If you have a passion for breaking down complex information into clear, user-friendly content, we would like to meet you. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, write, and maintain clear and concise documentation for APIs, system-level instructions, and DevOps environments. - Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, and engineering teams to gather and understand technical requirements. - Write and edit online help guides, user manuals, and release notes, ensuring accuracy and usability. - Create and manage API documentation, with the ability to read and understand code. - Ensure all technical documentation is up to date and aligned with the Agile development cycle. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes and standards. Required Skills and Experience: - Fluency in HTML, Markdown, and experience with online help systems like MadCap Flare. - Experience writing for **API and system-level documentation** aimed at DevOps and developer audiences. - Ability to **read code** and translate technical information into clear, user-friendly documentation. - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and image-capturing tools such as Snag It. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git and GitLab. - Experience working within the **Agile Scrum process** and a strong understanding of iterative development workflows. - Proficiency in using **video tools**, such as **OBS Studio**, for creating tutorials or technical demonstrations. - Experience with **Confluence** and **SharePoint** for collaboration and document management. Preferred Qualifications: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail. - Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - A passion for technology and continuous learning.
