Role: Senior QA Engineer Location: Boston, MA, 2 days/week onsite Local candidates only no relocation *Must come from a heavy financial services background Job Description: Senior QA Engineer Summary: Job Description: The QA Engineer is responsible for developing test strategies, creating comprehensive test plans, executing all phases of the testing process, managing activities to meet project objectives, and verifying that solutions function as intended. The solutions are evaluated for functionality, performance, reliability, stability, and compatibility with legacy and external systems. This role also involves testing in the Desktop Engineering space, focusing on end point testing to ensure user stability with new desktop rollouts. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in a QA role, including the creation of test strategies and plans, execution of testing scenarios, and provision of detailed testing results. The QA Engineer will perform tasks both independently and as part of a team. Requirements: Soft Skills Clear communicator (written and verbal) write detailed test plans and test cases, and communicate issues to developers and other stakeholders A go getter, who brings ideas and passion to the role Very organized and has finger on the pulse at a moments notice. Creative technical problem solver - translate technical requirements into test plan and proposes solutions to complex problems. Time manager focus on deadlines and deliverables, and quickly find serious defects Abstract thinker try new approaches, not just conform to the norm Ability to collaborate with QA and Development team members, strategize on testing approach, partnering with the Business IT leads and QA management Advocate to the end user. Abstract thinker try new approaches, not just conform to the norm Functional/Technical Skills Experience in Quality Management Software Standards and Processes, including traditional Waterfall, Scrum and Agile methodologies Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of the tested software solutions (Business Systems, Infrastructure and Security) Understand end to end business processes Created detailed test cases and provided comprehensive reporting Sql Skills Demonstrated skills in analysis, problem resolution, and judgment and decision making Experience with testing tools and an understanding in automation including some experience with Python (Nice to have) Experience with SQL or relevant databases is a plus Experience testing information security and end user desktop tools is a plus Bachelor's degree Energy, commitment, and a focus on user experience are essential for this role.
