Job Title: Lead Terraform Engineer (Azure) Experience - 12+ Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid) Job Type: Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Lead AKS Engineer with extensive experience in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and a strong background in Terraform, Azure security, and VM management. The ideal candidate will lead our efforts in deploying and managing AKS environments, ensuring robust networking, security, and observability. Key Responsibilities: AKS Networking: Design, implement, and optimize networking strategies for AKS, ensuring efficient and secure communication within the cluster and with external services. AKS Security: Develop and enforce security best practices for AKS deployments, including role-based access control (RBAC), network policies, and compliance standards. AKS Containerization Tools (ACT): Utilize ACT to manage and optimize container images in the AKS environment, ensuring they meet performance and security requirements. Istio Implementation: Implement and manage Istio service mesh to enhance microservices security, traffic management, and observability. Monitoring, Logging, and Observability: Establish robust monitoring and logging frameworks for AKS applications, leveraging tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to provide insights and maintain performance. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices for AKS administration and development, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of AKS configurations, processes, and security protocols. Provide regular reports on system performance and security posture to stakeholders. Qualifications: Proven experience as an AKS Administrator or Developer, with a strong focus on AKS implementations. Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) deployments. In-depth knowledge of Azure networking, security features, and best practices. Familiarity with containerization technologies and tools, specifically Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with service mesh implementations, particularly Istio. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on performance optimization and security. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Azure certifications, particularly in Kubernetes or security. Experience in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
