Position Title: Pega FHIR Consultant
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pega FHIR Consultant to join our team and assist in implementing and integrating the FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standards using Pegas solutions. The consultant will work closely with clients to design, develop, and deliver cutting-edge solutions that enable seamless healthcare data exchange, ensuring compliance with industry standards for interoperability and improving the quality of care.
As a Pega FHIR Consultant, you will leverage your expertise in both Pega platform development and healthcare interoperability standards (especially FHIR) to build and enhance applications that improve patient data flow across disparate healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities:
FHIR Integration & Implementation:
Design and implement healthcare solutions using Pegas platform in conjunction with FHIR-based APIs to ensure interoperability between healthcare systems.
Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, document solutions, and customize Pega applications to support FHIR protocols.
Ensure seamless integration of FHIR standards with existing healthcare data systems and platforms.
Collaborate with stakeholders to validate that the FHIR resources (such as Patient, Observation, Encounter, etc.) meet healthcare data exchange needs.
Pega Application Development:

Lead the design and development of applications on the Pega platform using Pegas low-code environment, adhering to FHIR standards.
Utilize Pegas tools and capabilities (e.g., Case Management, BPM) for efficient management of healthcare workflows that integrate FHIR.
Provide guidance on best practices for Pega architecture, integration strategies, and FHIR implementation.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with healthcare providers, business analysts, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical solutions.
Participate in workshops and meetings to guide stakeholders on FHIR standards, ensuring technical alignment and feasibility.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:

Perform thorough testing and validation of FHIR implementations to ensure they meet functional and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, HL7).
Help design and execute test cases to validate FHIR API endpoints and Pega integration points.
Document all development processes, API specifications, and best practices for future reference.
Training & Knowledge Transfer:

Provide training and support to internal teams and clients on Pega FHIR solutions.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, including changes to FHIR standards and Pega platform features.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

Monitor application performance, troubleshoot, and optimize integrations to ensure the best possible outcomes for healthcare providers and patients.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
Pega Platform Expertise:

Proficiency in developing, customizing, and deploying solutions using Pega 7.x or later versions.
Experience with Pega BPM, Case Management, and application architecture.
Strong understanding of Pega's integration capabilities, including REST and SOAP web services.
FHIR Knowledge:

Solid understanding of FHIR standards (HL7), including resources like Patient, Practitioner, Observation, etc.
Experience in implementing and consuming FHIR APIs for healthcare data interoperability.
Familiarity with HL7 standards and healthcare data exchange protocols.
Healthcare IT Expertise:

Knowledge of the healthcare domain, including electronic health records (EHR), electronic medical records (EMR), and clinical data exchange.
Experience working with healthcare providers and organizations to implement interoperable healthcare solutions.

Preferred Skills:
FHIR Implementation Tools:
Experience using FHIR tools or platforms like FHIR Server and FHIR Client libraries.
Programming & Scripting:
Strong experience in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python, especially for API integration.
Certifications:
Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) or Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA).
HL7 FHIR certification is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively interact with clients and team members.
Problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and documentation skills.
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Pega platform development.
At least 2 years of experience in healthcare IT, specifically with FHIR integration and interoperability projects.
Proven track record of successfully delivering healthcare data integration solutions.
