Job Title: eLearning Specialist & eLearning Lead

Location- Foster City, CA 94404 (Onsite) (Local Only)

Role Description:            

eLearning Specialist/Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, deployment/delivery and maintenance of a catalogue of training materials designed to support end-users during system upgrades and new system implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

Use ID principles, models and learning theories to perform a training needs assessment and determine knowledge gap. Use a systematic approach to perform learners analysis, task analysis, content storyboarding to identify appropriate media, learning objectives and content to fill in the knowledge gap

Lead the work of other eLearning specialists, providing direction, matrix management and mentoring. This includes tracking status of deliverables and review project outputs.

If needed, may investigate the project feasibility, and estimate project resource needs

Work with immediate manager to track and assign L&D projects workload to other eLearning specialists

Collaborate with subject matter experts to design, develop and deploy interactive eLearning solutions

Write scripts, apply graphic design skills, program user interactions, record software simulations, demonstrations, voiceovers, and create all applicable multimedia products to develop eLearning solutions

Manipulate and edit digital imagery, video and sound; Create images and animations and develop graphics that identify a concept or convey a message

Develop online assessment instruments; Edit and review existing eLearning solutions to keep them current and relevant

Create and implement designs as needed, including logos, icons, and other graphics that are professional and convey a specific message

Proactively seek eLearning end-user feedback, and edit materials accordingly

If consultants are employed to design course materials, review, provide feedback and redesign materials as necessary, ensuring timely execution of deliverables, following the quality specifications

QC the courses and verify every aspect of the learning material works: navigation, spelling, interactions, etc.

Upload SCORM to Gilead Learning Management System (LMS) and test it to ensure the course meets requirements to pass to production

Post-production technical assistance to troubleshoot issues, should they occur; Remain current with technology tools and trends in Digital Learning

Proactively plan effective stakeholder communications into process and approach to completing assigned work

Support user requests via SPARC and L&D mailbox, adding users to the relevant training curriculum or helping with training issues

Required knowledge and skills (top 3: Instructional Design, Lead eLearning Specialists deliverables, eLearning development with Storyline 360)

Advanced knowledge, skills on instructional design principles and methods, with special emphasis on conducting a training needs assessment using a systematic instructional design approach

Deliverables include:

Training Needs assessment analysis deck and results summary

Authoring of training plans

Training content task analysis diagrams

Storyboards of training content

Training curriculum design and update

Extensive experience in tracking and assigning projects workload to other eLearning specialists.

Ability to lead the work of other eLearning specialists, providing direction, matrix management and mentoring.

Ability to review other eLearning Specialists project deliverables and provide constructive feedback.

Advanced knowledge and skills on the technical tools and platforms required to achieve the delivery of engaging and media-rich online learning content and of trends in the use and effectiveness of educational technology and learning; skilled in the efficient use of common instructional authoring tools, especially Articulate Storyline and the Articulate 360 suite.

Advanced proficiency and proved experience in eLearning design and development, with a portfolio that highlights a diverse breadth of eLearning course development projects.

Mastery in visual design and usability for eLearning and other types of digital learning.

Ability to independently design and author complex and high-quality instructional content, aligning learning outcomes with course content design guidelines established with the subject matter experts. Independently determines and develops the most effective design solution to convey the training content.

Ability to assist other staff and perform multiple, diverse assignments simultaneously while working independently to assure accurate and timely completion of assignments, keeping supervisor advised of progress and problems of their own deliverables and those of the eLearning specialists being supervised; Ability to support a team-oriented, highly-matrixed environment.

Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, video authoring and editing, audio recording and editing, animation and/or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities; Expertise on Learning Management Systems

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical clients and to summarize complex concepts in a logically structured, easy to understand manner. Ability to learn new systems and platforms quickly, and transfer that knowledge into an eLearning/multimedia format

High attention to detail and exceptional written and verbal skills; Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities and projects change frequently; Knowledge of the technology industry

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Instructional Design, Education or comparable degree

BA/BS with 5+ years (or MA/MS with 3+ Years) of demonstrated experience as an instructional designer/ eLearning developer and lead
