Remote or On-site: Lansing , MI (Hybrid) Skills Required: 5+ years of experience in SQL Server database administration (version 2016 and upwards). 3+ years of experience in creating and maintaining system documentation. Expertise in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions. Experience with Transparent Data Encryption in SQL Server. Top Skills & Experience: 5+ years in SQL Server administration, especially versions 2016 and beyond. 3+ years in system documentation management. Expertise in HA and DR solutions. Knowledge and hands-on experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE). Position Summary: The DBA will be responsible for supporting SQL Server applications with high availability and disaster recovery (HA & DR) in a 24x7 environment. The role involves managing various SQL Server versions, monitoring performance, ensuring system reliability, and handling maintenance tasks for databases across development, test, and production environments. The DBA will also work with external consultants and internal teams to plan upgrades, patch management, and disaster recovery strategies. Key Responsibilities: Standards & Policies: Follow and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures. Research and draft guidelines within the current policies. Monitoring & Adjustments: Monitor space allocation and make adjustments as needed in development/test environments. Evaluate disk space requirements for existing or new installations. Modify DBMS parameters based on capacity changes. Integrity Checks & Maintenance: Perform and monitor database integrity checks. Execute database scripts for object creation or modification. Install base management software and patches. Repair fragmentation in test and development environments. Backup & Recovery: Monitor and troubleshoot database backups, ensuring recoverability. Support clustered database environments, replication, and backup. Job & Process Monitoring: Monitor scheduled processes and participate in troubleshooting. Database Environment Monitoring: Use alert logs and other tools to detect issues with database functionality, connectivity, or downtime.
