Coordinates the activities of Telecommunication Electricians assigned to various tasks. Interprets and reviews blueprints, diagrams and specifications of telecommunication installations. Determines appropriate work procedures, materials and tools necessary to complete work orders. Prioritizes work orders and assigns work to Telecommunications Electricians. Verifies proper maintenance of equipment and tools and may assist Telecommunications Electricians with work assignments and situations when necessary. Attends meetings with the departments administrative staff to plan work projects, forecast project timetables and discuss the deployment of personnel along with anticipated problems. Performs the duties and functions of a Telecommunications Electrician when needed. Performs other duties as assigned. | REQUIRED DEGREE | Successful completion of an approved and recognized four (4) year telecommunication technician apprenticeship program pursuant to attaining Journeyman status in installation and maintenance. | REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(S) | | REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE | # YEARS | Candidates ACTUAL Years of Experience | Full-time work experience as a Telecommunications Electrician within Telecommunication Systems | 10 | | Working knowledge of voice and data networks which includes design, routing and installation. | 1 | | Current employment as a Telecommunication Electrician. | | | | | | ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT | # YEARS | REFERENCES | Two (2) references of submitted candidates required.
