Hyperion/Essbase Planning Developer Location: Hybrid 3-4 days a week remote other days onsite in Downtown LA, CA - Resource needs to be in LA (Los Angeles) already and we cant have them relocate for this. Duration: 4-5 months. Maybe longer. MUST HAVES: This resource will be client facing and should have strong communication as well as analytical and on-prem Hyperion skill set. This candidate will assist International and Domestic PPC business clients with problem analysis, resolution and general support for a large number of Hyperion Planning applications. They will work with all areas of Information Systems on enhancements and support for a broad range of systems varying in design and architecture. This candidate will be responsible for ensuring that service levels are met in a dynamic environment - providing evaluations & solutions, managing and performing activities to restore functionality, fielding questions or requests for advice and assuring resolution and recovery occur in a timely and effective manner. Ideally, our preferred candidate would be considered an Essbase developer but candidates who may have a current role as an Essbase/Hyperion Planning Administrator will also be considered. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and assist in development of existing on prem Hyperion Essbase/Planning applications Write and fix various Calculation Scripts Enhance and support web based data entry forms within the Hyperion Planning application Perform Essbase outline changes and create reports as required Responsible for all problem resolution, incident closure and reporting Utilize query tools to analyze and reconcile data and to produce ad hoc reports Rotational on-call responsibility to support a worldwide service level agreement Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you will need: 3+ years current hands-on experience and understanding of Hyperion Essbase (Version 11.2 or higher), Hyperion Planning (Version 11.2 or higher) 5+ years working experience with Forecasting and Fiscal Budget systems Master proficiency with the Hyperion Excel Smart View component and its ability to query data Experience in writing system scripts with EssCMD and if possible MaxL A proven track record for providing insightful analytical skills and creative problem solving Excellent written skills needed for technical documentation Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills Proficient production support troubleshooting skills Ability to write technical specifications, program, test, and manage the transition of modifications through the quality assurance and change control process A Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience is required Additional Skills & Competencies: SQL scripting and VB would be a plus Ability to dissect business problems into functional solutions Effective communication, with technical and non-technical people.
