Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal QA Automation Engineer to join a growing team focused on modernizing automation testing practices. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and strategic functional experience, with an emphasis on automation. The position is ideal for someone looking to expand their career into a higher-level or managerial role as the team evolves. As the first person on the automation team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of testing processes and drive innovation in the field. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with business analysts, functional consultants, and developers to understand business requirements and technical specifications, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and scenarios tailored to SAP modules, ensuring they meet both technical and business objectives. Design, build, and maintain automation scripts using industry-standard tools such as Tricentis Tosca, UFT, Worksoft Certify, or other SAP-compatible tools (Tosca experience is highly preferred). Identify areas for automation and create strategies for automating tests, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing. Leverage programming knowledge (ABAP, Java, C#, Perl, Python) and experience with deployment tools like Turnover and Solution Manager to create scalable, reusable automation scripts. Execute automated tests across various SAP modules, including FICO, HR, SD, MM, and R2R, ensuring that functional, integration, and regression testing meet high-quality standards. Contribute to the migration efforts from ECC to S/4HANA, bringing expertise in S/4HANA and SAP module functionalities. Provide feedback on test results, identifying defects and working closely with developers to resolve issues. Ensure that testing is aligned with industry best practices and internal quality assurance standards. Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in automation testing tools and techniques, offering recommendations for continuous improvement of testing processes. As the first member of the automation team, play a pivotal role in shaping future hiring, team development, and evolving strategies for the testing department. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in testing, automation solution design, and implementation, particularly within SAP environments. Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, with practical experience in modules such as FICO, HR, SD, MM, and R2R. Proven experience migrating from ECC to S/4HANA, strongly preferred. Proficiency in automation tools such as Tricentis Tosca, UFT, or Worksoft Certify (Tosca expertise is a major advantage). Solid programming skills in ABAP (preferred) or similar languages (e.g., Java, C#, Perl, Python). Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and deployment tools such as Turnover and Solution Manager. Ability to execute automated tests and interpret results to ensure high-quality deliverables. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and provide status updates to stakeholders.
