Dear Associates, Position Title: Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) Analyst Location: Washington D. C (100% REMOTE) Duration: Long Term Rate: Quote your best Work Authorization: US Citizens only - Must have an Active Secret (or) Top Secret Security Clearance Job Summary: The Zero Trust Analyst will be responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of a Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) within US Defense environment. This role requires an in-depth understanding of ZTA principles, security frameworks, and best practices for safeguarding sensitive systems. The ZTA Analyst will work closely with cybersecurity teams, system administrators, and US Defense stakeholders to apply ZTA strategies and ensure that all systems and data comply with US Defense security standards. Key Responsibilities: ZTA Implementation and Maintenance Support the design, deployment, and ongoing management of Zero Trust components in US Defense systems. Apply US Defense specific security frameworks and policies, including NIST SP 800-207, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and US Defense Zero Trust Reference Architecture. Implement secure access mechanisms based on least-privilege principles, ensuring identity-based, context-aware access control. Configure and enforce micro-segmentation across networks and workloads, reducing the attack surface and limiting lateral movement. Policy Development and Compliance Develop, document, and enforce Zero Trust policies in compliance with US Defense Security standards. Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to ensure that ZTA policies are adhered to, addressing gaps and recommending improvements where necessary. Collaborate with compliance teams to create policies that meet regulatory requirements and maintain records for audit purposes. Monitoring and Incident Response Develop and manage ZTA-specific monitoring tools to continuously assess system security, including detecting unauthorized access or unusual behaviors. Collaborate with incident response teams to analyze potential threats, mitigate incidents, and implement adaptive security controls. Develop and implement automated responses for various threat scenarios, leveraging security orchestration and automation (SOAR) where possible. Identity and Access Management (IAM) Implement and manage IAM solutions tailored to ZTA, including multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access management (PAM), and identity federation. Ensure identity verification and access control are based on user context, device posture, and data sensitivity, minimizing risk. Data Protection and Encryption Develop data security strategies to secure US Defense data both in transit and at rest, leveraging encryption, data classification, and access control techniques. Ensure that all sensitive data interactions are logged, monitored, and accessible only to authorized personnel. Training and Awareness Collaborate with US Defense teams to promote Zero Trust best practices, conducting training sessions and developing educational materials as necessary. Provide guidance on ZTA principles to US Defense personnel, helping to cultivate a security-conscious culture across the program. Reporting and Metrics Track and report on ZTA implementation progress, measuring improvements in security posture and compliance. Develop regular reports for US Defense leadership detailing security metrics, incident response outcomes, and areas of improvement. Required Qualifications: Experience : Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in Cybersecurity, with at least 2+ years focused on Zero Trust Architecture or related security models. Demonstrated experience in US Defense or Federal government environments. Technical Skills : In-depth knowledge of ZTA concepts, including network segmentation, IAM, endpoint security, data protection, and incident response. Experience with US Defense compliance frameworks (e.g., RMF, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-207) and familiarity with US Defense Zero Trust Reference Architecture. Proficiency in security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, and IAM solutions. Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, is a plus. Preferred Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) CompTIA Security+ Certified Zero Trust Security Professional (CZTP) or similar Zero Trust certification Education : Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field Thanks, Ram M.
