Job Title: Tandem Application Support Engineer Location: Omaha, NE Company: TCS Job Type: Contract Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Tandem Application Support Engineer to oversee the monitoring, maintenance, and enhancement of HP NonStop systems and associated applications. This role involves managing batch job scheduling, code promotion, system performance, and third-party software support while ensuring seamless operations and adherence to service standards. Key Responsibilities Application Monitoring and Recovery: Monitor application-related batch jobs, recover failed jobs, and restart as needed. Batch Job Scheduling: Manage automated scheduling systems, resolve scheduling conflicts, and perform on-request batch job scheduling. Code Promotion: Support and maintain standards for automated code promotion systems; move application code between development, test, and production environments. Incident and Delay Notification: Notify relevant support teams about incidents and delays per defined procedures. System Documentation: Develop and maintain procedures, scripts, and operational documentation for batch processing, scheduling, and network support. Performance Analysis: Analyze resource usage to identify performance improvement opportunities and implement solutions. Third-Party Software Support: Install, upgrade, and maintain third-party application software on HP NonStop systems. Database Management: Maintain job scheduling databases and document job completion results and interdependencies. Capacity and Storage Management: Manage system performance, capacity planning, and storage configurations. Required Qualifications 10+ years of experience with HP NonStop systems and Tandem applications. Expertise in system operations, monitoring, and production control (scheduling and library management). Strong knowledge of backup, restore management, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience with NonStop software support, database services, and administration.
