Job Title: Mainframe(COBOL) Modernization Developer Location: 100% Remote Healthcare and AWS experience is mandatory in recent project at least. Must Have Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in mainframe development (COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS) and modernization projects. Experience working with Micro Focus Enterprise Server on Windows or Linux, and familiarity with job scheduling tools like CA-7 Knowledge of AWS services, Linux, Windows, including Mainframe Modernization tools and services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Agile development practices. Knowledge of Java is a plus but not required. Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems or related field is a plus but nor required. Responsibilities: Participate in the migration of legacy IBM Mainframe applications to Micro Focus Enterprise Server on AWS Windows or Linux based platform, using mainframe migration tools from MicroFocus and Rocket Software. Analyze and modify COBOL, JCL, CICS and other mainframe program components ASSEMBLER, EZTRIEVE, REXX, CLIST to ensure compatibility with the modernization platform. Migrate mainframe VSAM data files to Microfocus platform. Work with Rocket COBOL analyzer and developer tools to refactor and optimize code. Develop, test, and implement enhancements in the modernized application stack using MicroFocus COBOL. Ensure proper integration of interfacing systems, utilities, and schedulers, such as CA-7. Perform unit testing and support system testing phases. Document the migration process and provide knowledge transfer to the support team.
