Duration: 6 months Work location: San Jose CA / Bothell WA / Austin TX Visa Status: (Only GC/USC) Phone and skype HYBRID - 3 days a week Reverse Engineer - 4 open roles What we seek: receives a lot of apps from independent developers that want their apps to be displayed on the Play Store platform for customers to purchase and download. A lot of these apps have malware embedded into the code and thus client is concerned that a customer could download an app from their Play Store that could then cause issues for the customers device; they are attempting to ensure the users devices is not at risk of a malware attack. The code that needs to be reverse engineered is mainly written in Kotlin and some JAVA code. The (2) groups seeking Reverse SW engineers include a. Malware RE (need 4) i. Reverse engineer code to identify how the developers embedded malware into their code ii. Assist client in strengthening their platform to protect their Play Store platform. Protect customers from downloading an app from the store that is infected with malware iii. We have (4) openings to include (2) Senior and (2) junior to mid-level (Kelly) 1. The senior engs have to have RE for Malware and understand app security practices 2. The junior to mid-level need a android sw dev b/g and some level of security understanding as they develop their code. 3. Experience can include: MW RE, Web App security developer or done Pen Testing b. SDK RENeed (4) i. Developers use SDK to build apps ii. Apps use SDK interfaces to run and deploy iii. The SDKs can put the users data on their device at risk iv. These REs will look for issues to protect the users. They vet for: 1. Malware issues 2. Ensure the apps are not violating app store policies 3. Vet for data security issues 4. Privacy issues v. We have (4) openings to include (2) mid-level (Kelly) and (2) Senior 1. The senior engs have to have RE for Malware and understand app security practices 2. The junior to mid-level need a android sw dev b/g and some level of security understanding as they develop their code. 3.
