Job Title ; Senior Software Engineer Team Lead Visa: No H1B, OPT MOI: Skype TRP Location: Baltimore, MD (Hybrid ) . This is for a senior Software Engineer with .NET/C# (preferred). This will be a HYBRID work schedule requiring 2-days in office based out of the Baltimore City location. The ideal candidate will come from the Fixed Income, Asset Management sector. As this is a lead role, professional communication skills are essential!!!! The priority of this role will be to design, develop, modify, adapt and implement short- and long-term solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems, databases and applications infrastructure and interpret system requirements and business processes as well as code, test, debug and implement software solutions. Other responsibilities include: Lead projects or work streams Be accountable for your work and sometimes others, provide process and standards advice in your area of specialization Work independently This person will lead a small team of software developers while also being responsible for their own work. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Act as a domain expert across multiple parts of the software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, and deployment. Lead significant portions of development, ensuring adherence to best practices. Perform and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback on design and implementation. Take ownership of technical debt within your software and implement strategies for improvement. Lead a small project team, managing tasks and mentoring team members. Problem Solving & Decision Making Solve complex problems methodically and make tactical and strategic trade-offs when necessary. Adapt solutions based on evolving requirements or feedback, demonstrating flexibility and innovation. Mentorship & Collaboration Mentor junior engineers, fostering growth and confidence within the team. Provide support to team members, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting enhancements to practices. Collaborate directly with business partners to understand priorities and translate them into technical solutions. Business Knowledge Align decisions with current and future business priorities while maintaining fiscal responsibility. Articulate business needs effectively and integrate them into technology-driven solutions. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical discipline with 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree. Expertise in modern programming languages (C# /.NET preferred). Experience developing APIs or a strong willingness to learn. Knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts, and stored procedures. Experience building and deploying applications to public or private clouds (AWS, Azure, etc.). Reporting and analytics experience preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency in Test-Driven Development, delivering iterative and adaptive code. In-depth knowledge of software development best practices and processes. Ability to design and implement practical APIs and abstractions. Familiarity with data modeling concepts such as ACID, normalization, and transactions. Skilled in debugging complex systems and collaborating with others to resolve issues. Soft Skills Strong enthusiasm for learning and a results-oriented mindset. Ability to mentor and inspire confidence in junior team members.
