Description: Performance hours flexible based on needs of USPS management. The supplier should be able to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed. The work must be performed according to USPS policies based on the Software Delivery Framework and secure coding practices. USPS requires the Supplier to provide resources to support Finance & Payment Technology Services for application and system development, maintenance, and overall technical support as required. The contractor must enhance and support these production applications and create new applications as the need arises. List of tasks to be performed: Analyze existing FAMS java application objects documenting current processes ensuring the information is accurate and can be easily understood by the business owner so they can make decisions on modernizing that applications processes. Plan, organize, & implement processes in relation to the migration of frameworks from Struts to Spring in an efficient manner. Develop and maintain IT documentation in regard to the modernization. Refresh the FAMS SIT and CAT application environments with Production data when requested. Execute the FAMS SIT and CAT batch processing cycles when requested. Resolve any FAMS SIT and CAT batch processing errors that occur. Apply business requested requirements to the FAMS applications Java & SQL objects when requested. Resolve all defects deemed critical for production before implementing. Will ensure the Technology Solutions Life Cycle (TSLC) process is being followed having the USPS Software Architect along with the USPS Business Owner(s) review and approve the SIT and CAT results before migrating into the Production environment. Strong implementation background and ability to solution complex business requirements. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow). Update configuration diagrams and other documentation. Utilize an iterative development methodology and attend Agile ceremonies for all work done under this contract. The methodology must allow users to examine the validity and accuracy of the business requirements and to respond to the usability and performance of any new deployments or installs. Show a high level of competence in the USPS operating environment. Acquires a thorough knowledge of the assigned systems and understands the USPS business processes that support it. Provides on-call and after hours support as required to support the production systems. As directed by the Software Architect, effectively and proactively work with customers/end users of application(s) to ensure needs are being met / managed in a positive manner. DOCUMENTATION The contractor must develop system and user documentation for both existing and newly deployed application software. The contractor must provide the following documentation: System Documentation Training Documentation User Documentation List of tasks to be performed: For a detailed list of tasks, please see attached. Required Experience Level: Minimum of 5-7 years experience in design, development, maintenance, production support, coding, testing, documentation, quality assurance, and implementation of Java web applications. Familiarity with the process of Java web application framework migrations, particularly in modernization from Struts to Spring. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum processes and management tools (preferably VersionOne) and IT Service Management Systems (preferably ServiceNow). Strong SDLC Software Development Life Cycle background (Planning, Analysis, Design, Development, Testing, Implementation, Deployment and Maintenance) Educational Requirements: A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of service is preferred.
