(Job title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE))

Job Responsibilities:

The Sr. IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for managing and enhancing IT infrastructure, cloud capabilities, and business-critical systems. Key responsibilities and opportunities for growth include:

Network and IT Infrastructure Management:

Oversee network components including switches, access points, routers, firewalls, VPN, and WAN.

Manage VMware infrastructure, virtual servers, on-site storage, and backup systems.

Cloud Strategy and Implementation:

Develop and implement cloud application patterns to enhance cloud capabilities.

Drive application and workload migration to the cloud.

Work with business owners to understand solution requirements and identify architectural patterns.

Collaborate with cloud engineers to integrate on-premise and cloud-based systems.

Automation and Integration:

Develop cloud automation strategies for managing and scaling containers, hosts, cloud services, and applications.

Resolve application-to-platform integration issues for Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) services.

Research and propose solutions for cloud data transformation, operational frameworks, and application integration.

Documentation and Vendor Management:

Create and maintain documentation for IT infrastructure and systems.

Supervise and lead Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure service quality and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

7+ years of experience designing, configuring, and supporting core IT infrastructure, including datacenters, networks, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud services (Azure, AWS).

Proficiency in programming with API development experience using Python and Power.

Expertise in modern cloud application architecture.

Hands-on experience managing microservices such as Functions as a Service, Containers, and managed databases in AWS/Azure.

Strong knowledge of data analysis, data visualization, and event-driven architecture.

Experience administering Cisco & Meraki switches, Meraki WAPs, Azure Active Directory, Windows Active Directory, and VMware virtualization.

Familiarity with GxP, quality systems, regulatory standards for the biopharma industry, and SOX compliance.

Experience managing Microsoft 365 (admin tasks, licenses, security, and configuration using Power).

Proficiency in Okta for identity and access management (IAM).

Certifications:

Relevant certifications in Azure, MCSE, and AWS are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills:

Exceptional vendor management skills, including supervising and leading Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Ability to create architectural templates and operational documents.

Strong collaboration skills to work with architects and engineers on technical designs and documentation.
