Job Title: Tibco Mainframe Focus/WebFocus Specialist Contract C2C/w2/1099 USC GC GCEAD Hybrid at FL Near by relocation works Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Tibco Mainframe Focus/WebFocus Specialist to play a key role in the Florida PALM project. This is a critical opportunity to contribute to the re-engineering and modernization of core financial systems for the State of Florida. The project aims to replace the State's accounting and cash management systems with a modern financial management solution, with a go-live date scheduled for January 6, 2026. As part of this effort, we are looking for a resource with deep expertise in Tibco Mainframe Focus or WebFocus, with a focus on analyzing, updating, and migrating legacy systems to meet the new requirements of the Florida PALM system transition. Key Responsibilities: Program and Report Analysis: Analyze current Focus programs and WebFocus reports. Document specifications and work with management to develop a remediation strategy for all Focus programs and reports. Report Improvement & Conversion: Analyze existing reports, engage with business users to improve reports based on current business needs, and convert WebFocus and Mainframe Focus queries into T-SQL queries. Database Collaboration: Work closely with database administrators to create database views and stored procedures that facilitate the remediation of WebFocus reports. Update Focus programs to reflect changes to the chart of accounts as mandated by Florida PALM. Data Migration: Transition legacy data sources (mainframe flat files) to use database tables instead. Collaborate with the IT team to ensure smooth data migration and reporting transitions. Financial Data Analysis: Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving the data model of financial systems. Environment Administration: Provide administration and support for the WebFocus environment dedicated to the Florida PALM remediation project. Knowledge Transfer: Provide training and knowledge transfer to the technical staff within the Office of the Comptroller to ensure long-term success and smooth transition post-project. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience with Tibco Mainframe Focus and WebFocus development. Strong SQL skills, with experience working on IBM DB2 relational database management system. Experience with IBM mainframe and Job Control Language (JCL). Technical Expertise: Proficient in analyzing, documenting, and converting Focus programs and WebFocus reports. Knowledge of data governance best practices. Experience in developing financial reports, such as general ledger, purchasing, and revenue data. Ability to create reports based on end-user requirements and multiple data sources. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking to design and create data reports based on financial data and user requirements. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with modern reporting tools like MS Power BI, IBM Cognos, and Tableau. Knowledge of financial systems, including ERP systems. Experience with data management concepts such as Data Warehousing, Operational Data Stores, Data Lakes, and Master Data Management. Familiarity with the SCRUM Framework. General Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Communication: Ability to clearly convey information in both written and verbal formats, and actively listen to others. Customer Service: Work effectively with internal teams, business offices, and external stakeholders to assess needs and provide solutions. Decision Making & Problem Solving: Ability to make informed decisions, evaluate alternative solutions, and implement effective problem-solving techniques. Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, courteous, and respectful in interactions with all stakeholders. Education: Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or finance (or equivalent work experience). Additional Information: Local candidates preferred. Must be available to work on-site as remote work is not an option.
