Senior Data Engineer w/ Oil and Gas Client Exp. Location: remote role. Duration: 6+ months Oil and Gas Client domain Visa: No H1B, CPT but prefer USC/GC MOI: video Job Summary: Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas domain. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering and significant experience working with Cognite. This role requires a deep understanding of the Oil & Gas industry, data management, and the ability to work with complex data sets to drive business insights and efficiencies. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics. Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Utilize Cognite to manage and analyze large volumes of data from various sources within the Oil & Gas industry. Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity across all data pipelines. Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to improve performance and scalability. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve data engineering practices. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas domain, with a deep understanding of industry-specific data and processes. Strong experience working with Cognite and its suite of tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Java. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and data warehousing solutions. Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under time and resource constraints. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka. Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts. Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
