Job Title: Performance Engineer (Java / Spring Boot) Location: Phoenix AZ -Only locals OR (EX -Amex Candidates) Hybrid Role Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot frameworks, who can optimize and tune application performance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks, resource utilization, and code optimization strategies to ensure applications run efficiently in high-load environments. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and optimize the performance of Java-based applications, particularly those built with Spring Boot. Conduct performance profiling and stress testing on application code, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting improvements. Work with developers and other teams to implement code optimization, and ensure efficient resource utilization (CPU, memory, and network). Design and execute performance test strategies, ensuring the applications meet desired performance and scalability standards. Tune JVM settings, garbage collection, and other memory management techniques to improve application performance. Implement best practices for application performance, monitoring, and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate performance solutions throughout the development lifecycle. Analyze, troubleshoot, and provide solutions for performance-related issues in production environments. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong experience in Java development, including expertise in Spring Boot frameworks. In-depth understanding of performance tuning, profiling, and optimizing Java applications. Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JProfiler, VisualVM, LoadRunner, JMeter). Expertise in JVM tuning, garbage collection strategies, and memory management techniques. Experience in identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in multi-tier, distributed applications. Strong knowledge of system architecture, including databases, web servers, and networking components. Proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex performance issues in high-traffic environments. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
