The ideal candidate will have experience in administering, optimizing, and maintaining SingleStore databases, along with the ability to automate database operations using Python scripting.Key Responsibilities Database Administration: Manage, monitor, and optimize SingleStore (formerly MemSQL) databases for high availability and performance. Perform regular maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and upgrades. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. Database Optimization: Implement indexing, query tuning, and schema optimization to improve database performance. Analyze and resolve database bottlenecks and scalability issues. Automation and Scripting: Develop Python scripts to automate routine DBA tasks such as monitoring, backups, and alerts. Create tools for data migration, ETL processes, and performance analysis using Python. Collaboration: Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database integration with applications. Provide guidance on SingleStore best practices and usage to development teams. Monitoring and Reporting: Utilize monitoring tools to ensure database health and availability. Generate and maintain reports on database performance and resource utilization.Required Skills Database Expertise: Proven experience as a SingleStore (MemSQL) DBA. Strong understanding of database architecture, indexing, and partitioning in SingleStore. Python: Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and building custom tools. Performance Tuning: Expertise in query optimization, execution plans, and indexing strategies. ETL and Data Integration: Experience in ETL workflows and integrating databases with cloud and application platforms. Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with database monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.Preferred Skills Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of additional database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB. Strong understanding of network and system infrastructure as it relates to database performance.Qualifications Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of database administration experience, with at least 2 years in SingleStore.
