Top Skills Required: COBOL programming on a Mainframe CICS experience (10-15% of development will involve CICS) Healthcare experience, including understanding of claims adjudication, deductibles, Explanation of Benefits (EOB), out-of-pocket expenses, and various types of insurance (Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, etc.), as well as claim denial processes. Secondary Skills (Nice to Have): Mainframe experience IBM technologies AS400/iSeries Job Responsibilities: Work on the IBM mainframe system that handles BCBSs mission-critical claims adjudication applications. Ensure claims adjudicate accurately on the first pass, reducing the need for manual processing. Conduct periodic system updates and modifications to meet changing business requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and implement COBOL-based solutions. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members. Develop and execute a strategic plan to meet system goals efficiently. Additional Requirements: Must be able to work hybrid onsite in Jackson, MS.
