Come in when needed Needs to be heave palo alto Only USC or GC Maximum C2C rate: $55/hour Need someone with: Must = Paloalto experience (we will dig very deep on the following) Ability to create security policies on paloalto firewalls Experience with panorama managment Ability to crate and trouble shoot ipsec vpn Experience with globalprotect Experience with paloalto code upgrades Certs = Security, Networking, Paloalto certifications preferred PTO Status: BASIC FUNCTION: Position is a very experienced network security engineer responsible for the deployment, configuration, and administration of network security resources. This role requires experience in the configuration of advanced features in a layer 7, next-gen firewall. This includes the physical installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of related equipment and services. A Network Security Engineer collaborates with network engineering, desktop services, client administration, application owners, project managers, vendors, and end-users to provide support and administrative services. Typically reports to the Director of Information Security. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelors degree preferred or 7 years of relevant experience Certifications: Mid-level networking and security certifications such as PCNSE, CCNA, or CySA+, or equivalent. Practical Skills: The ideal candidate will be required to perform networking tasks and will often be required to work independently. Candidates should have 6-9 years of experience in the following: Configuring network devices such as a switch, router, access point, or firewall. Creating, maintaining firewall security policies Create detailed topology diagrams and technical documentation Assist in maintaining and tracking support licenses Assist with improvements to the firewall to optimize performance and availability Administer the management plane (users, groups, roles, logging, reporting) Troubleshooting connectivity issues. Configure and maintain routing on firewalls Configure and maintain IPSEC tunnels with remote sites Monitor firewall performance and integrity Resolve issues through troubleshooting and inspection of infrastructure. Experience in mentoring junior staff Ability to plans small moderately complex projects Configure security zones and interfaces (physical and logical) Configuration of advanced next-gen firewall features such as URL filtering, application filtering, and threat prevention. Knowledge: The ideal candidate will be able to assist in the configuration of appliances and network devices. This will require the knowledge of: Strong understanding of OSI model Strong knowledge of well-known ports Active Directory Users and Groups. Remote access protocols and the associated clients for RDP or SSH. Advanced packet analysis skill using Wireshark. Common malware, cyber-attacks, and types of attackers. Soft Skills: Excellent planning, documentation and organizational skills Excellent problem solving skills Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to work successfully in a team environment Strong customer service skills Must be willing to: Work from a ticketing system. Participate in an on-call rotation which may an off hour duties during nights and weekends. Experience working with a vendor support technician. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Participates in the research, installation, configuration, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of security systems and services. Participates in implementing controls and procedures to protect information systems from unauthorized or accidental modification, disclosure, or destruction, under the guidance of Team Leads or Management. Provides unassisted support to application owners, project manager, vendors, and end-users. Works on teams and provide task completion for all levels of projects. Accountable for meeting and setting project timelines. Recommends technical standards. Participates in designing and planning of advanced security systems or services. Provides guidance and mentoring to Security Analyst(s) Researches and makes recommendations regarding the acquisition of new security tools and technology. Responsible for covering a 7x24 shift of on call support rotating which is rotated weekly among the Information Security Cyber Operations team. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
