The base skillset is similar to other DevSecOps Engineers on my existing platform team, however as opposed to being app-dev focused, they will need to be more infra-focused. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building infrastructure platforms and automating, managing, and maintaining infrastructure using code. This role requires a deep understanding of modern cloud platforms, configuration management tools, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Ideally, the candidate would have extensive experience working with both physical and virtual infrastructure, have deep knowledge of Azures cloud offerings, understand the Software Development Lifecycle, and operate with a DevOps mindset. Experience building and delivering solutions as products is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Automation: Develop, implement, and maintain infrastructure as code using various tools like Terraform, Ansible, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, or similar. Cloud Management: Design and manage scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure on Azure. CI/CD Integration: Integrate IaC practices with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous delivery and infrastructure updates. Configuration Management: Utilize configuration management tools to automate system configurations, manage and deploy applications, and ensure consistency across environments. Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of the infrastructure.: Handle engineering, implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, usage monitoring, and development of systems infrastructure within infrastructure design. Automated Functional Testing: Validate infrastructure as code, automate CI/CD testing, ensure workload support under various conditions, and enforce security and compliance standards. Required Skills: Proficiency in Architecture Frameworks: Knowledge of widely used architecture frameworks like TOGAF or Zachman Framework to structure and organize architectural artifacts and processes. Extensive experience managing and maintaining physical and virtual servers. Proficient in virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V. Strong understanding of compute resource allocation, performance tuning, and capacity planning. Experienced in deploying and managing high-availability and scalable infrastructure solutions. Experience in building, updating, and maintaining APIs for service integration. Understanding how forms interact with infrastructure to make changes via APIs. Experience working with vSphere Automation API. Experience with both on-prem and cloud-hosted infrastructure, particularly Azure and vSphere. Knowledge of RHEL, Rocky, or Debian-based KVM environments is highly desirable. Experience with configuration management tools and practices. Experience in automating physical infrastructure changes and upgrades. Experience with Kubernetes, ideally with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Understanding of the differences between Kubernetes Operators and Helm charts, and when to use each. Experience setting up Container Registries and defining standards for tagging, immutability, promotion, and container access to Kubernetes clusters. Deep knowledge of Windows Server OS installation, configuration, and administration. Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policy, and Power scripting. Experienced with DHCP, DNS, IIS, and file/print services. Understanding of Windows security practices, including patch management, firewall configuration, and user access control. Experienced in configuring and managing subnets and VLAN. Experience: Proven experience in infrastructure as code and cloud infrastructure management. Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. Proficiency in Microsoft Azure.AKS Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI). Skills: Has experience building Continuous Integration pipelines for Network as Code and/or Infrastructure as Code Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, Power, etc.). Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Strong understanding of infrastructure best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
