Application Developer ETF Platforms NYC 3 days onsite / 2 days remote 12+ month contract Job Summary : We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Application Developer to join our global team supporting ETF (Exchange Traded Fund) processes at Investment Management. As a key member of the ETF development team, you will design and develop cutting-edge applications for ETF Portfolio Managers and Operations teams, focusing on middle-office and front-office platforms. This role also includes providing Level 3 (L3) support for existing systems to ensure seamless operations. Key Responsibilities : Design, develop, and maintain applications for ETF Portfolio Management and Operations teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build ETF middle-office and front-office platforms. Participate in Agile practices, including Scrum events, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Pair Programming. Provide ongoing Level 3 (L3) support, troubleshooting and resolving complex system issues. Ensure code quality and application performance through rigorous testing and optimization. Required Skills and Qualifications : Technical Expertise : Strong proficiency in Core Java , Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs. Solid understanding of design patterns (e.g., Dependency Injection, MVC, MVVM) and data structures . Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like Angular and React; TypeScript and UX design experience are a plus. Experience working with XML , JSON , and Unix environments. Proficiency in scripting and Python for automation and task execution. Database Knowledge : Strong experience with T-SQL, including normalization/de-normalization, performance tuning, and locking mechanisms. Development Practices : Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and tools. Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines. Industry Knowledge : Experience in the investment industry, specifically with ETF trading and portfolio management, is highly desirable. Problem-Solving & Interpersonal Skills : Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions. Strong communication skills and customer service focus to collaborate with users, vendors, and global teams. Preferred Qualifications : BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience in application development. Experience with UX design and financial systems.
