Title: IT Project Manager Location: Atlanta, Georgia Description: The IT Project Manager will manage migrating on-premises Mainframe systems to the state Cloud Services environment. The position is accountable to the PM Officer, the Departments Chief Architect, and the supported system and business owners. The Project Manager works with Agency and State level executives, software vendors, service providers, and business directors to implement changes to the environment. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related field or specialized training and seven years of IT project management experience PMP certification from PMI or equivalent certification 7 years of experience leading projects of moderate to high complexity Basic understanding of Mainframe system operations Experience and knowledge migrating on-premises applications to a cloud environment Executive-level written and oral communication skills. Hands-on expert experience with MS O365 applications Experience working with the state government Responsibilities: Under general supervision, manages and/or coordinates all project tasks necessary to migrate mainframe applications to the AWS Cloud. Manages and/or provides project management consultation for all aspects of the project through the project management and software development life cycle. Works closely with the resource manager, vendor, business analysts, and subject matter experts on the various system support teams. Manages the project as scoped by the project steering committee. Manages schedules, risks, issues, and interdependencies with an understanding of on-premise and cloud technologies. Provide continuing direction to the project team, conduct status meetings, assess proposed changes in scope, and recommend courses of action to project sponsors during the execution phase. Near the end of the project, use the product verification process to make sure that the project has delivered what the client expected and performs a lesson learned for all projects. Promote and support Project Management Office policies and processes.
