Overview We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer responsible for designing and leading strategic Cloud Platforms with empowered teams and adaptive mindsets. You will drive cloud-native and multi-cloud platform implementations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Kubernetes, and Zero Trust Architecture while applying Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to build resilient and scalable platforms. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and enhance overall system architecture. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the design, deployment, and management of cloud-based solutions, utilizing IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible. Participate in the full cloud platform lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to documentation and support. Develop and enforce cloud architecture best practices for performance, cost-efficiency, and security across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Collaborate with software development teams to integrate cloud services and support CI/CD pipelines, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration. Conduct regular audits and assessments of cloud environments using monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or cloud-native options. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to cloud engineers, fostering a culture of automation in provisioning, deployment, configuration management, and monitoring. Evaluate and implement new cloud technologies to enhance capabilities and drive innovation. Lead incident response and troubleshooting efforts for cloud infrastructure issues in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and present technical solutions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 13+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, specializing in cloud infrastructure design and management. Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong experience in cloud automation using Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation. Hands-on experience designing and implementing full-stack/Microservice infrastructure with IaC best practices. Strong understanding of secure software development methodologies and a Code-First mindset. Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, debugging, testing, and software tool integration. Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools. High-level expertise in monitoring and logging tools (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana). Solid understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and cloud security best practices. Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, and Bash. Ability to collaborate across teams, including Software Development, DevSecOps, Data Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, and IT Operations. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Expert-level cloud certifications in AWS or Azure are required.
